DENVER, Colo. — FEMA and Indian Health Service are providing COVID-19 vaccinations to 13 communities in North and South Dakota.
Mobile vaccination units will make two stops in each community beginning April 19. Two stops are being made so both doses of the vaccine can be administered. The mobile units will be able to provide up to 250 vaccinations per day for those 16 years of age and older and no pre-registration is required. People ages 16 and 17 will need permission from a parent or guardian.
Following are the South Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Friday, April 16. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.

- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 2,201

Corrections were made by the South Dakota Department of Health in multiple data categories, which director of communications Daniel Bucheli said in an email was due to, "Two previously probable cases were identified as not a case after (polymerase chain reaction) confirmatory testing was negative. Additionally, we have been performing data cleaning for our 2020 end-of-year data closeout. This has included deduplicating some individuals who had negative test results, but were not initially identified as the same person. This resulted in what appears to be only 36 new cases when comparing the total tests between yesterday and today."
