A 19-year-old Brainerd man Sunday reported that $4, a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card, a pack of cigarettes and a knife were taken from a car in downtown Brainerd. The man later was arrested shortly afterwards because he had four Crow Wing County warrants against him, including underage consumption/possession.

Gail Gustafson Saturday reported an identity theft at the 17000 block of Highway 371.

Melissa Born, Oak Lawn Township, Saturday reported the theft of her pure bred Chihuahua. Dog was found at Heartland Animal Rescue Team.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - No injuries were reported Sunday in a two-vehicle accident at Highway 371 by the Old Waterfall.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - Cassandra Wejko Sunday reported that she stopped for a green snowmobile, approximately three miles from Highway 169 in Garrison, and asked if the male snowmobiler was OK. The male then tried to get into her vehicle.

FIRE - A chimney fire was reported Saturday at 22000 block of Beaver Creek Road in Deerwood. Deerwood Fire Department extinguished fire and little or no damage was done to house.

ACCIDENT - An 81-year-old Brainerd woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident that was reported Thursday at 3:34 p.m. on Excelsior Drive. Betty Mendel, a passenger in the vehicle driven by Jane Koop, 87, Brainerd, was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries. Mendel was released from the hospital the same day. Koop wasn't injured.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - No injuries were reported Sunday in a two-vehicle accident at Highway 371 and Excelsior Road.

A 52-year-old Brainerd man and a 23-year-old Brainerd man were arrested Friday in connection with stealing a vehicle at 300 block of West Washington.

Mark W. Anderson, 8000 block of Sophies Way, Friday reported a possible forgery of someone trying to use Anderson's identity to get a new credit card in his name.

George Kohan, 300 block of Aspen Court, Friday reported an attempted forgery that the credit company was able to stop.

OTHER - Suzanne Benson, 500 block of F Street, Friday reported a suspicious lump in the alley behind her house. Officers investigated and found that it was a garbage can.

It was reported Thursday that a driver made a left turn onto the railroad tracks at East River Road, believing the tracks were a road. The vehicle was pulled off the tracks with assistance from a passerby.

Johnson Sunday reported that he was hit on the shoulder while at the Soup Kitchen, 923 Oak St. Johnson also reported to the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms about someone buying guns at a pawn shop and selling them to another who is not supposed to have guns. Johnson also reported marijuana plants in the Pequot Lakes area.
