State Rep. John Ward, DFL-Brainerd, is encouraging all interested high school juniors to apply for the Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program.
For more than 30 years, the Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program has been dedicated to providing participants with hands-on access to state government in action. Students selected for the program meet individually with House members and discuss issues of interest and current legislation, assist members during floor sessions, participate in mock committee debates, and meet with constitutional officers, members of the judiciary, lobbyists and the media.
Throughout the course of their week in Saint Paul, participants are exposed to a wide variety of experiences, each designed to provide them with a deeper understanding of how state government works.
More information about the Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program can be found on the House website at www.house.mn or by contacting Rep. Ward at (651) 296-4333 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline to apply for the program is Nov. 12.
