MINOT, N.D. — Minot police are searching for a suspect after a 29-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday morning, Jan. 12, in the city.

At 6:07 a.m., police were called to an area in northwest Minot to investigate a report of gunshots. A few minutes later, dispatch received a call about a car crash near the Minot State University Dome. Police found the driver had been shot. He was taken to Trinity Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

Police say there is no imminent threat to the public but are asking residents to check their security cameras for any footage that could help with the case.
