Agate and Mineral Show planned

AITKIN - The Cuyuna Rock, Gem and Mineral Society will be hosting the Agate & Mineral Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 5 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6 at the Aitkin High School on Highway 210.

In addition to agates and minerals from around the world, there will be a variety of offerings such as polished specimens, fossils, jewelry and gifts by more than 50 vendors from throughout the state. Special displays and demonstrations will be on-going throughout the day. There will be a special Kid’s Korner where children may dig for fossils and agates. In addition, a big tailgating section will be set up in the parking lot for buying, selling and trading your best stones.

Bring the family and learn about how to identify agates, cut and polish your finds, and the equipment used to turn rocks into gems.

Free admission, plus free entry for half-hourly door prize drawings and concessions on site.

Vendors may reserve space by calling Tom Bebeau (218) 820-0758 or email Marg Jensen at
