NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. — The driver of a fatal single vehicle crash from Tuesday, Jan. 19 has been identified by the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP)

Daniel Steidl, a 48-year-old from Bismarck was traveling northbound around 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, on County Road 14 south of New Rockford, N.D., when the vehicle, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee went in both the east and west ditch. According to NDHP, the vehicle vaulted over an approach near 17th Street NE, landed and began to roll.

During the rollover, the vehicle caught fire, coming to a rest facing to the south, southeast direction, according to the news release from NDHP.
