SELFRIDGE, N.D. — A 20-year-old man died in a one-car rollover in foggy conditions on Thursday morning, Jan. 7, on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said Dalton Powell from Cass City, Mich., was negotiating a left-hand curve in his Jeep Cherokee when he lost control and went into the ditch on Highway 6, about 7 miles north of Selfridge. The vehicle slid into the bottom of the ditch and began to roll, coming to rest on the highway's shoulder.
The road was wet and there was light fog at the time of the crash.
Powell, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene, according to the highway patrol.
