MORTON COUNTY, N.D. — A 43-year-old Bismarck man is dead after being hit and killed by a vehicle on North Dakota Highway 1806 on Thursday, Dec. 31.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, State Radio was receiving multiple calls of a pedestrian walking on the roadway south of Huff, N.D.

At 8:50 p.m. Thursday, a vehicle was heading north on Highway 1806 when the driver spotted the pedestrian but was unable to avoid hitting him, the Highway Patrol said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the crash remains under investigation, according to the Highway Patrol.
