BUFFALO, N.D. — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the 11-year-old boy who died in a rollover crash east of Buffalo on Sunday evening, June 28.
Owen Steckler died after the Polaris Ranger he was driving rolled over, ejecting him from the vehicle, according to the patrol.
Steckler was traveling east of Front Street, east of Buffalo, before turning southbound on 140th Street SE, losing control and entering the east ditch. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the patrol said in its report.
Madison Steckler, 14, was a passenger in the Ranger. She was transported to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for her injuries. Her condition was not public on Tuesday.
Buffalo is on the western edge of Cass County, 38 miles west of Fargo.
