Deaths from COVID-19 in South Dakota climbed to 644 on Sunday, Nov. 15, with the latest statistics released from the South Dakota Department of Health.
According to the department, there were 23 newly reported deaths from the respiratory disease. The department also reported 1,199 confirmed cases of the disease, compared with 1,855 new cases reported the day before. That brings the total number of active cases to 19,360, up from the 18,747 reported on Saturday.
There are currently 553 patients hospitalized with the disease, up from 549 the day before. The number of patients ever hospitalized climbed to 3,644, up from 3,598 on Saturday.
Total confirmed cases for the disease now sits at 61,700, which is up from 60,600 on Saturday. Of those cases, 45,377 patients have recovered from the disease.
