MOORHEAD — A 20-year-old man was arrested in relation to a Friday, Oct. 16, drive-by shooting in Moorhead where one man sustained a non-life-threatening injury.
Tyminderious Hays was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 17, in Fargo after the Red River Valley SWAT team executed a search warrant at a Fargo home at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the Moorhead Police Department announced in a Facebook post.
On Friday night, a suspect fired six shots out of his vehicle towards another man who was in another vehicle parked along a street in south Moorhead. The victim was hit by one bullet in his leg and was conscious when emergency responders arrived, according to Moorhead Police Sgt. Scott Kostohryz.
The two involved in the shooting are thought to have known each other, Kostohryz said.
Hays, of Fargo, is currently being held in Cass County Jail and will be transferred to the Clay County Correctional Facility to face first degree assault and drive-by shooting charges, the Moorhead Police Department said.
"The Moorhead Police Department would like to thank the Fargo Police Department, Red River SWAT Team, Metro Street Crime Unit, and the High Plains Fugitive Task Force for their assistance with the case," the department said in its Facebook post.
