ROCHESTER, Minn. — Longtime Rochester Post Bulletin reporter and editor Jeff Pieters has been named to the newspaper’s newly created editor position, overseeing its news-gathering and reporting operations.

Pieters joined the Post Bulletin, now owned by Fargo-based Forum Communications Co., in January 2001 as a reporter covering Rochester city government. His assignments soon grew to include Olmsted County government and other general topics. In 2012, Pieters became the Life section editor. In a 2017 restructuring of the newsroom, Pieters was named to the newspaper’s executive committee.

Pieters grew up in the Milwaukee area and is a 1992 graduate of Valparaiso (Ind.) University. He has worked in Indiana, Florida, Iowa and elsewhere in Minnesota before coming to Rochester. He lives in Rochester with his family.
