After picking up three verbal commitments on Sunday, UND added two more future players on Monday to grow the number of known commitments to nine.

Kicker Reid Tauberheim of Farmington, Minn., and linebacker Hudson Walton of Cedarburg, Wis., are the latest additions.

The pair joins Develyn Ferguson (Wauwatosa, Wis., wide receiver), Deion Harris (Hibbing, Minn., safety), Drew Greely (Wayzata, Minn., defensive end), Joe Montague (Minnetonka, Minn., defensive back), Keaton Studsrud (St. Louis Park, Minn., quarterback), Dylan Harmston (Menomonie, Wis.) and Luke Fiedler (Orlando, Fla., tight end) as the expected incoming 2014 signing class.

Tauberheim, 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, is a left-footed kicker who will be called upon to handle the kicking duties immediately as UND graduated senior Zeb Miller.

Tauberheim also was Farmington's punter and strong safety. He attended the same special teams camp (Kohl's Professional Camps) as UND's freshman punter Mitch Meindel.

According to Kohl's website, Tauberheim is the 24th ranked kicker in the class of 2014.

"Reid has a lot of talent," the Kohl online assessment said. "He should be in the mix with the best in the nation. He's one of the best kickers to come out of Minnesota in the last couple of years."

Walton also has strong prep credentials.

He was a first-team all-state player in Wisconsin after rushing for 1,964 yards and 29 touchdowns. He led his team to an 8-3 record and reached the second round of the playoffs.

Walton, who is 6-1 and 200 pounds, has been recruited as a linebacker.

Miller reports on sports. Call him at (701) 780-1121, (800) 477-6572 ext. 1121 or send e-mail to tmiller@gfherald.com.
